Choosing a modern black mailbox
Black is the finish architects reach for first. This collection brings together 18 modern black mailboxes, wall-mounted and post-mounted, in powder-coated aluminum and black stainless steel. Prices start at . Every model is designed by Vsons and built in North America.
Powder-coated aluminum or black stainless steel?
Powder-coated aluminum is the most popular choice. Aluminum cannot rust, and the powder-coated finish is built for years outdoors. Models include Mitch, Louis, City B, Ely and Matt.
Black stainless steel gives the same color on a stainless body, and it can be engraved. Choose it if you want your house number cut directly into the front: Mitch Engravable, Louis Engravable and Anthony Engravable.
Wall-mounted or post-mounted?
Wall-mounted mailboxes install by the front door, on a porch column or on a fence (a fence bracket is available). Choose one if your carrier delivers to the door.
Post-mounted mailboxes sit at the curb. Anthony, Jeremy, Era B and Eden B are USPS-approved curbside models. See all post-mounted mailboxes.
Why black works on modern exteriors
A black mailbox reads as part of the architecture: it lines up with black window frames, garage doors, railings and light fixtures instead of competing with them. Complete the entrance with black Lumina outdoor lights and a matching mailbox post.
