2×2 Aluminum In-Ground Mailbox Post — Rust-Free
2×2 Aluminum In-Ground Mailbox Post — Rust-Free
The Vsons Design 2×2 aluminum in-ground mailbox post is a sleek, rust-free post designed for permanent concrete installation. Built from 1/8″ thick aluminum with a black powder-coat finish, it includes a dedicated in-ground extension that anchors into concrete while the main post remains fully above grade. This two-piece design positions your mailbox at the correct USPS height — 41 to 45 inches from road surface to mailbox opening — without ever rusting, splitting, or fading. Mounting hardware for your mailbox is included.
Compatible with Anthony, Jeremy, Eden B, and Era B post-mount mailboxes. Concrete not included.

- Attach your Vsons Design mailbox using the included mounting hardware.
- Verify that the bottom of the mailbox opening sits 41–45″ above road surface per USPS guidelines.
Compatible mailboxes: Designed for Vsons Anthony, Jeremy, Eden B, and Era B models. For third-party mailboxes, use appropriate hardware for your application.
Wood post alternative: If you prefer a standard 4×4 wood post, use the Vsons wood post bracket adapter instead.
Why aluminum? Aluminum cannot rust — not in coastal air, not in humid climates, not from road salt. Unlike steel posts that corrode and stain the surrounding concrete, this post will look the same in 20 years as it does on install day.
The 1/8″ wall thickness keeps the post lightweight while maintaining solid structural integrity. The two-piece design — main post plus in-ground extension — means only the extension is ever buried in concrete, so the visible post stays pristine above grade.
Finish: Matte black powder-coat. Matches Vsons Anthony (black), Jeremy (black), Eden B, and Era B mailboxes directly.
What mailboxes is this post compatible with?
The 2×2 aluminum post is compatible with all Vsons Design post-mount mailboxes: Anthony (aluminum and stainless), Jeremy (aluminum and stainless), Eden B, and Era B. Mounting hardware for the mailbox is included with the post.
How does the in-ground extension work?
The post ships with a separate aluminum extension piece that sets into concrete below grade. The main post slides onto the extension above ground, so the visible portion of the post is never buried or exposed to soil or moisture underground.
Does this post come with concrete?
No. Concrete is not included. Standard bagged concrete mix (available at any home improvement store) works well for this installation. One 50 lb bag is typically sufficient.
What is the difference between the 2×2 and the 4×4 post?
Profile and visual weight. The 2×2 post has a slim, minimal profile — ideal for homes where a compact support looks most intentional. The 4×4 post is heavier and more substantial, better suited for larger mailboxes or homeowners who prefer a more prominent post. Both use the same aluminum alloy and wall thickness.
Can I install this post without concrete — just packed dirt?
We don't recommend it. Packed dirt does not provide the lateral stability needed for a clean, long-term install. Concrete keeps the extension plumb and prevents seasonal frost-heave movement. The installation takes about 30 minutes and the concrete sets overnight.
